The uplifting, toe-tapping original songs heard in each episode of The Knights of Swing are the result of a long and simpatico musical relationship between Executive Producer, Writer, and, Creator—Rolland Jacks—and Orchestrator, Arranger, and Director—Emilio Palame.

For over twenty years, these friends have been collaborating on Rolland’s heartfelt, spirited and entertaining songs ranging in style from pop and gospel to musical theater and jazz.

Something special really clicked when Rolland introduced Emilio to the jazzy bluesy Schoolroom Blues, inspiring You’ve Gotta Have a Dream and romantic, Love Is Ours Tonight. Because of his extensive background in big band jazz, Emilio began the journey of arranging Rolland’s compositions and working with him to meld them into the story of talented 1940s high school buddies who try to reach their dream.

In a close and harmonious working relationship, Emilio and Rolland have created the 1947 world of the Knights of Swing and brought Gifford, Nolan, and their friends alive through their original jazz and swing music inspired by the big band era of post-war Southern California.
